Spiritual Alchemy
“Alchemy is a
cultivation of stillness, and the movement and flow of energy
within your body. In Alchemy we learn to redirect negative energy
in order to use it for positive growth. The road block becomes
the road, and your critics become your greatest teachers.”
- Michael Kilman
Humanity has reached a point when we
can go no further without beginning to cultivate positive changes
within our lives. Every time we experience a moment of suffering
this is an opportunity for change and growth. The greater the
suffering, the greater the upheaval, the more powerful opportunity
we have to evolve our human experience. The Seven Steps of Spiritual
Alchemy are that Opportunity. Each of the Seven Steps explores
a different aspect of ourselves so that we may evolve to our
Highest Potential.
1. Calcination
The metal lead represents this
particular process. The metal lead is difficult to change and
its only weakness is the powerful element of fire. This process
often happens to us when we hit rock bottom. Our whole life
burns down around us and all that is left in its wake is ashes
of our former self. However, because of this process the excesses
and the unnecessary aspects of the self have now burned away.
Space is then created for change to begin to take root. Thus,
Calcination is a process by which we burn away old patterns
and prior conceptions of the self that are the roadblocks to
change. The Power of Fear is significantly weakened during this
process.
2. Dissolution
The metal tin represents the
process of Dissolution. The metal tin is much more malleable
and after Calcination there is a Space for Change. However,
in this process you are taking the element of water and washing
the remainder of the ashes from Calcination. There by amplifying
the positive aspects that already exist in your life. This is
also a time for taking the energy of sorrow and depression and
transforming them into a vehicle of positive growth.
3. Separation
The metal iron represents this
process. In this case you are working with the facets of the
ego and the conscious mind. You have now cleansed yourself through
Calcination by burning off the unnecessary, and through Dissolution
by purifying what was left. At this point it should be clear
what elements of that particular substance should be present
in your life and which elements can be discarded. This is a
process of taking inventory and clearing out your mental and
physical space once and for all. The energy of Anger can now
be transmuted into a powerful ally.
4.Conjunction
The metal copper represents
the process of Conjunction. Up until this point you have worked
mainly with the lower worlds, or the subconscious and conscious
elements of your life. At this point in the work you begin to
bring in the elements of the super conscious or that of the
spirit realm into that of your conscious mind and combine them
with the refined subconscious that you have already been working
with. Thus you are combining the world of the below with that
of the world of the above and becoming the stone that lives
in balance between those worlds. The energies of Loving Kindness
and Compassion can now begin to enter your life.
5. Fermentation
The metal mercury (known often
as quicksilver because it remains liquid at room temperature)
represents this phase of the work. This is the final death of
any negative elements that may have survived up to this point.
In this stage you will dive deepest into your subconscious and
find the very spirit of your oldest wounds. This is where we
first begin to align our minds and our intuition so they are
in balance. The power of presence will become a vital ally in
this stage.
6. Distillation
The metal silver represents
the process of Distillation. This process represents the mastery
of understanding the realms of above and below. You learn to
circulate light and energy within and without yourself. Lucid
dreaming, and cultivating the divine feminine are they key aspects
to this process. You can begin to see the fluidity of all that
is, and the wisdom within that flow. You aura can quite literally
begin to shimmer like the metal silver itself. Light energy
itself will become a powerful ally as you master this process.
7. Coagulation
The metal gold represents the
final stage of the alchemical process. The divine child is now
reborn in you in a new way. You can begin to see the world with
a sense of wonder and awe. This is the final cultivation of
the Philosophers stone. Simply put this process brings about
a newfound sense of inner peace, presence, and fluidity within
life.
The Spiritual Alchemy Process is just one stage of the work.
These processes are tools transmitted through Michael Kilman
with the help of the Angels, and other spiritual and alchemical
texts. It is important to note that even when your work with
Michael is done, Alchemy is a continuous life long process,
as any process of change and growth is.
The Seven Steps of Spiritual
Alchemy are a new beginning a new way of looking at life. They
are a pointer or a signpost, that if applied can help make tremendous
positive changes in your life. Life itself however, is its own
Alchemical Process.
